Environmental Monitoring

Environmental monitoring (EM) is a program designed to demonstrate the control of microbes in critical areas.  This may include clean rooms, glove boxes, biological safety cabinets, laminar flow hoods, filling lines, and others.  It typically involves contact plates for sampling surfaces and agar plates within air sampling devices to sample air.

FOCUS provides complete EM support, including:

  • Provision of sampling supplies and devices
    • Agar plates, swabs, paddles
    • Met One particle countes
    • SAS Viable Air Samplers
  • Training for in house EM
  • Incubation, enumeration and characterization of EM isolates
  • Identification to genus or species level as required
  • Trending data across time.
